Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic

Congratulations go out to Lydia Ko this week for winning the Canadian Pacific Women's Open. She did it by winning in a playoff over Stacy Lewis. It was a very unusual finish, as the winner did not make a single birdie over the last 16 holes on Sunday, and won the playoff with a par. So Yeon Ryu shot a final round 64, but fell one shot short of the playoff.

This week the LPGA travels to the state of Alabama for the playing of the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic. Mi Jung Hur won this tournament last year shooting a final round 66, to defeat runner-up Stacy Lewis by 4 strokes.

This will be tournament #23 of 31 on the 2015 LPGA schedule.

Here are the key details:

Canadian Pacific Women's Open Preview & Pairings

Congratulations go out to Brooke Henderson for winning the Cambia Portland LPGA Classic. She did it in convincing style, winning by 8 strokes. It was the largest margin of victory in an LPGA event since Jiyai Shin won the British Open in 2012. She becomes the first Canadian golfer to win an LPGA event since Lori Kane in 2001. This now guarantees that Brooke will have full time playing privileges in 2016. With In Gee Chun winning earlier this year, these two young players have certainly given us  all something to look forward to next season.

This week the LPGA moves to Vancouver, Canada for the playing of the Canadian Pacific Women's Open. Many of you may remember last year's exciting shootout when So Yeon Ryu shot an amazing 23 under par, which was good enough to finish 2 strokes better than Na Yeon Choi. This will be the second time in the last four years that this tournament will be held in Vancouver. In 2012, Lydia Ko came out on top by 3 strokes over Inbee Park.

This will…

Cambia Portland Classic Preview & Pairings

After a one week break, the LPGA moves to the state of Oregon this week for the playing of the Cambia Portland Classic. It will be very difficult to match last year's exciting finish when Austin Ernst won her first LPGA championship, defeating I.K. Kim in a playoff.

Adding to the significance of this tournament, is that with only two tournaments remaining (Cambia and the Canadian Pacific) before the the Solheim Cup team is announced, there are several players fighting to capture a spot on the team. Those players include: Angela Stanford, Paula Creamer, Brittany Lang, Lizette Salas, Gerina Piller, Jessica Korda, Mo Martin, Austin Ernst, and Alison Lee. None of the aforementioned players have wrapped up a spot as of this writing.

This will be tournament #21 of 31 on this year's LPGA schedule.

Here are the key details:

Location:  Portland, Oregon
Defending Champion:  Austin Ernst
